Pros: Authentic Mexican food, menu offers great variety so everyone will find something to their taste. The restaurant is in an old house, it's perfect. Interior is well decorated and the live music is the cherry on the top. Con: (big one but circumstantial) Service was disappointing, it felt like they were short staff ... so it took about 40 minutes before someone showed up at our table. I asked if someone was coming and the answer was quite rude. I felt like my question was legit after 40 minutes without getting anything, not even a glass of water. Finally it was our time to order. We wanted to have starters and couple of drinks before main meal. The girl told us to order everything at same time. We got our drink and starters at same time, then main plate showed up quickly. We were hoping to get more drinks but again no one seemed available to take the order. Don't get me wrong the restaurant is great, food wad good and we plan to go back, hopefully we will get another waiter/waitress. Read more
Super beautiful authentic Mexican food. Does not feel greasey or heavy at all. Wonderfully balanced with subtle but sharp flavours. On top of that the staff was very accommodating and the atmosphere is extremely lively!
The best authentic Mexicans restaurant in Quebec. If you are missing a good old home cooked meal this is the place. The service was great from the owner, waitress and kitchen staff. The food was perfect. I recommend the Pozole, Guacamole, the Enmoladas and Tostadas. If you feel extra thirsty ... go with the Horchata, its really good!! Read more
On Friday June 10th 2022 my partner and I decided to go to this restaurant to try some authentic latin food. (I am hispanic) as soon as we walked in at 6:30pm there were 20 people in the same group laughing hard, clapping hard, yelling loud, and screeming. We reserved a ... table and the owner brought us to a table beside a drinks fridge. When he sat us down I asked for some water. We waited for 15 minutes and no water came. Instead he stood watching the large party of people 20-25 people, paper and pen in hand. We tried to get his attention for about 15 minutes and nothing. I walked up to him and asked him if we could order. We ordered our food and he left to tent to the large party. Guys were flashing their stomachs at eachother, sitting on eachother’s laps, standing around and in between tables, screeming, swearing extremely loud ext. It was so loud, I started getting full blown anxiety and my partner did not feel comfortable either. The families at the three other tables closer to them looked noticibly uncomfortable. Again we waited to get his attention and nothing. His only interest was bringing them more drinks and taking food orders. I got up and told him, we are taking our food to go, that those tables were being unneasesarily loud and and inappropriate for a restaurant. All he said was “ok”. He brought the food to us in a bag, I asked “Is this type of atmosphere typical for your buisness, the screaming, telling, standing around, partial nudity. He said “yes”. I said “this was my first time here… and now my last…” He actually said “good!”. I asked him “is this how you treat your customers? Seriously? I’m writing a google review”. He said “go for it”. When we got home we noticed the portions were tiny, tiny. For $40.00 you get these tiny enchiladas. No guacamole, no rice, no beans, no salsa, no sour cream. The chicken was completely unseasoned, bland, wrapped in a small tortilla, with a tiny amount of tomato paste on top, a tiny sprinkle of feta, no spice or taste to it at all. It tasted like bland, boiled chicken. There was also a child in the kitchen working on the plates. We were so hungry we went to Harvey’s after and got a whole other meal with a poutine. For your own good… do NOT go to this place. The service is horrible, the owner offensive, attitude, no apology, only insult, the food is garbage. My enchiladas are sooooo good in comparison. They rip off white Quebecers into thinking that this is latin food. No effort in their food, the least amount of ingredients and portions as possible and then they charge you a lot for garbage. I have never interacted with an owner/employee at a restaurant with that level of disregard and disrespect for customers. No NOT support this business for your own good! Read more
