Reviews for Restaurant Le Lai in Montreal, Quebec
I usually doesn't expect much from this kind of place. I should have expected less. First of all, if you are allergic to something, you already know how difficult it could be to thrust anything prepared by someone else. After informing the waitress of my capsaicin allergy, she told me ... that everything was ok while serving me the appetizers with a sauce clearly containing chili flakes. When I pointed the flakes, she told me it was only in the sauce (sic). From there, when she came back, she told me the main was safe. When I asked if she was sure, she actually told me the Chef had no idea as the food was came in already prepared by someone else... Great. All our party was now worried, me because it could contain my special friend and all the others at the prospect of eating some old food. To be honest the chicken and the beef were actually ok. As for the shrimps, my colleagues said they were good. They just completely missed the rice that was dry. Really dry. Like "I went into the microwave" dry. And the jasmine tea was probably a second or third infusion. The prepackaged, industrial fortune cookie was the best part of the meal, with the little leaf of iceberg lettuce. If you are really hungry and in the neighborhood, well there is a McDonald's across the street. Go there. Read more
The food was good, the portions are quiet big, no waiting time; the staff is nice so overall the restaurant is good. We might come back not on purpose for sure, but we were pleasantly surprised...
Nice and cozy restaurant. The food was great, however I have eaten at better Vietnamese restaurants in Montreal. They win points for their fried ice cream though (yes! fried ice cream!). They even gave us fidelity cards. I would definitely recommend it for anyone in that area of Montreal.
Super food. Great price..and you can bring type own wine!

Not my best vietnamese restaurant experiance. Small portions and the spring rolls where like they were bought at the super market .and they diddnt serve beef ball soup wtf.left hungry twenty dollars later but the food was tasty
