What a find !!!!! Hand made, from a wood fire. Makes the crust incredibly delicious.. if you a connoisseur of sourdough. Or rye bread. This is Victoria ‘s must stop bread pit.. !! Sunday’s pizza day. And they make pizzas until there’s no more dough..
Sunday pizza day. We ordered a Margherita after waiting about 20 minutes, not too bad. The wait for the pizza was going to be 35 minutes, I thought long considering the pizzas cook in 3 minutes. We ordered some baked goods to hold us over, an apple danish, a pistachio ... cream doughnut and a pretzel. We felt that the flavours were all there and came through but the pastries and the pretzel were too oily. The pistachio cream was spot on but the dough, oily, yes it is doughnut but I shouldn’t have to wipe my fingers of grease. The pizza…excellent!!!! The dough is not the white flour 00, it is their own blend and we could really taste the flour, it was a nice surprise. The sauce is Bianco Di Napoli tomatoes, the best and delicious, the cheese and basil were top quality. Well worth the wait. 100% if I were in the hood again I would order again. Read more
If you need bread, this is your spot. I was in the neighborhood for some business when I see a line of people outside of the bakery, That was already the first hint. That this place was probably very good. I got an assortment of breads and pretzels and ... different pastries for the team. They were enjoyed by all. I look forward to my next visit Read more
My friend Paul , who is a baker at the slow rise, bakery in Gabriola highly recommended this bakery. I researched it online and look at the history and was very impressed. Gratta greeted me with a beautiful smile and was very patient with me as I was deciding for ... different treats for my family. I saw lots of people coming in and out with Pizza and I look forward to that next time. The quality of this bakery is top notch. I got to enjoy a coffee from the neighbour Spiral Cafe and enjoyed my apple fritter. My next time it Victoria West will include this bakery for sure. Highly recommended. Read more

We got the mutton sausage roll, pretzel, almond croissant, chocolate cookie and a ham and cheese croissant. Everything was slightly disappointing. The mutton sausage roll had a strong lamb flavour but that's fine for us because we love the lamb flavour and the pastry was flaky. But it felt a bit ... dry. The pretzel was dry and not chewy. It was disappointing. The almond croissant was too sweet. The chocolate cookie was a bit chewy but not chewy enough. The ham and cheese croissant had a generous portion of ham in it but it was not flaky enough. I didn't get a chance to try any bread but I think that's probably what they are known for. The items we tried were kind of disappointing. Read more
