I recently visited Chancho, a Mexican restaurant on Commercial, known for their pound-per-pound tacos. It's important to note that they only serve pork—no chicken, fish, or other types of meat. While I personally prefer chicken tacos, I decided to try the pork shoulder this time. Despite my initial hesitation, I was ... pleasantly surprised by the flavor and quality. Birria taco’s were perfection. Guac is, imo, the best I’ve had in town so far. The price is right and the atmosphere is perfectly airy and a really chill vibe. Definitely somewhere to return to on a regular basis! Loved it 🔥

We used to go often to Downtown location and I live it. I do not know if they moved or its a second location. I discovered this while the Italian festival 2024 so we decided to ignore all the Italian food and eat tacos, everything was perfect until the last 5 ... minutes when the restaurant allowed a couple with a small dog which was on the outside bar (I am sorry but its not a patio where sometime dogs are allowed to be). This people but their dog in their lap and then distracted the dog jumped in to the bar (the table) and start to sniffing my wife’s food when I realized and this cocky couple (clients) did not apologize at all. Pretty good for the price. You get quite a few tacos from one serving. Meat was maybe a little on the dry side but overall a solid place for Mexican food.

We did walk in and had brunch here this morning. No lineup. We scanned a QR code at the front of the restaurant. In the end, the server introduced what we should be ordering. We thanked him for his recommendations. It was our first time here and didn’t know what’s ... good. We ordered veggie and pork tacos as well as Chilaquiles con Huevos. All of the dishes were great. We usually eat Mexican food in US but rarely in Canada. The service was great. The server was very caring and attentive. We didn’t ask for extra plates but he noticed we were sharing food, so he brought us extra an additional plate and fork. The ambiance and background music perfectly matched the Mexican cuisine. We enjoyed the brunch here. The interior design was on par with we expected to see on Commercial Drive. Also, the washroom was clean.
