I got the lemongrass pork special rice bowl today. The only thing special about it was how completely dry and boring it was. The meat itself was nice, tender and a decent flavour. But everything else was so basic, dry rice, dry lettuce a little pickle something and some cucumber ... pieces and that was it. No dressing or sauce to bring it together or to add flavour to the rest. It didn't seem well thought out beyond the meat for a special dish. I wish I'd gone elsewhere for lunch, really disappointed. I tried the eggplant rice bowl and it was amazing! The eggplants were cooked just right, and the bowl was so colorful. I loved how the eggplant felt like meat. I'll definitely come back for more. Highly recommend this dish!

One of the most consistent and reliable options for takeout if you work downtown. The eggplant bowl is very well done as it has a nice silky texture which can be hard to achieve and it’s complemented perfectly by the chili garlic sauce. I would recommend the roast beef bowl ... over the steak as it’s more tender. Their rotating weekly specials (pictured) are what keeps me coming back; the chicken katsu has a nice crispy exterior and the sweet & spicy battered shrimp bowl pairs well with fresh cucumber. My main criticism is with the rocket greens as they are served plain, they don’t add much to the bowls on their own and would be better if they were tossed in a light dressing, or replaceable with cooked vegetables. I would also say that the steak and roast beef could be salted better as they seem to rely mostly on the sauce for seasoning. A brown rice option would be nice. Lastly, the miso soup is a great addition for the winter, it’s one of the more flavourful and savoury bowls of miso soup I have had. Read more

Second time ordering from here and both times I’ve been blown away! For my first visit, I ordered the eggplant bowl. Seeing as I’m a huge fan of eggplant, they gave a good amount in my bowl. This time around I got the daily feature which was their sweet chilli ... salmon.. again, absolutely delicious. The salmon was SO soft and SO moist, I’ve never had such good salmon from a restaurant before. Highly suggest trying out this place. They even have Mister ice cream some days which is an added plus!
