Microgreens have grown in popularity due to the amount of nutrients they contain. Notably in posh Yaletown and Vancouver restaurants you see dishes appear with sprigs of tiny vegetables that look more like garnish than food. Don't be fooled by that. Eat them! For example, impressive list of benefits include: ... red cabbage micros contain six times more vitamin C than the grown up version, 40x more vitamin E and 69x more vitamin K; sunflower sprouts contain 24-30% protein, etc. Those who dislike eating vegetables can now ingest a few sprigs of microgreen instead. Well, you'll still need roughage. My favourite at this place is the micro green salad – a complete salad made entirely of different kinds of microgreens such as sunflower, pea shoots, broccoli, kale, and everything else they have that day. Unlike store-bought field greens, this salad is pack full of nutrients – with way more distinctive flavours. When I first discovered this place, I saw a photo of their salad online which looked like any other salad because they used stock photo, so I didn't try the salad for the longest while until I saw someone eating it. Of course you can buy boxes of microgreens from Wholefoods, Stongs and Choices, but those are not freshly harvested. I read somewhere that once cutting from the plant, vegetables lose their nutrients quickly. So, the concept of just harvested before you eat it appeals to me a lot more than store bought salads. Try one, your body will thank you! Read more
Came in today and had the most wonderful experience. The customer service was over the top and went above and beyond my expectations! You gained a customer for life. Your knowledge and expertise does not go unnoticed!
Great spot for smoothies, at first glance I thought you had to have greens growing here or that it was just a cultivator but it has more than that. They have a menu of multiple tempting healthy smoothies and salads. I tried the Green Dream this morning and was ... not let down. I already have a list of next smoothies to try because they looked great. Super friendly staff that took the time to explain the whole set up to me and recommend her favorites. Wonderful experience with delicious smoothies to boot! Read more
Temple tonic is delicious and the peppery taste if the herbs is wonderful, the servers are friendly. A bit disappointing to see them pouring tropicana juice into the juice under a huge sign reading organic on the wall.. Tropicana is owned by coca cola which is about as far as ... you can get from organic and ethical, the oranges are probably gmo and full of pesticides. I guess the sign refers to the plants grown there, which are lovely by the way. I do also wish they would find an alternative to plastic cups ans straws which are seldom recycled and end up in landfill or the ocean. At least offer a financial incentive if you bring your own cup or have returnable glass jars like eternal abundance. Read more
