Purdy’s Chocolates - Vancouver, British Columbia

I visited the store because I was curious about the variety of choices for vegans and kosher products. However, I had a poor shopping experience at this location. I was trying to choose some gifts for students with different food restrictions/preferences when a younger member of the staff came over ... to the chocolate bar area and demanded to know whose bag was on the ground. As I was the only person standing beside it, I thought that was strange and said it was mine, apologized and moved it slightly, though it was literally only a couple of inches away from me initially. It turns out the bottom of the chocolate bar area is their storage and she wanted to get into that drawer, which she did and proceeded to grumpily refill the bars while reaching over me and crowding me out of the way as I was trying to shop for the bars. She didn't say excuse me or explain that she needed to fill certain containers, she just continued to act as though she was annoyed that I was there but also pretended that I wasn't. Their chocolates are amazing! Best place for a chocolate fix at a reasonable price. They also have a small selection of ice cream. My son had 1 scoop of the bubblegum which is really good. A friend of mine ordered 1 scoop of espresso dipped in white chocolate in a ... cone. The ice cream was really good, but I didn’t care for the chocolate. My favourite chocolate store. Definitely a Vancouver icon and it’s a good gift idea for abroad. Obsessed with the hedgehogs, dark chocolate bar, and chocolate coins. Those are my favourite! Staff have been friendly to me at this location.

They always provide great chocolates. There are many different types of chocolates and they look very good. Whenever I go to this store, the staff is always friendly and helpful. My kids and I love it here, specially the ice cream with nuts. We discovered the goodness of their ice cream when their manager in this branch encouraged us to try it out after buying a variety of chocolates. The chocolates are good but the ice cream coated with chocolates and ... nuts are the BEST. From this time onwards, we never fail to stop at Purdys whenever we find one as my kids are begging for more. :) Thanks to the nice staff at CF Pacific Centre specially to the manager for introducing Purdys to us. We are newcomers to Canada and just found Vancouver to be our new home! Read more
