Phat Deli - Vancouver, British Columbia

I have gone by a few times in the past few months. PHAT has been closed each time. So it appears to me that it did not survive the COVID closures.

The meat is great! This guys knows his stuff. For the more food savvy, the bread needs work. Don't travel with this sandwich for more than 5 mins, or you will need a fork to eat your lunch.

By far my fave deli in Vancouver. They make an incredible sandwich and their breakfasts are to die for. Portions are generous, salads are huge and food is fresh and delicious. I used to eat here a lot, but recently the quality of service and food has significantly degraded. Last time I stopped by, they forget about my order and responded with "Oh well, guess it fell through the cracks." When I did get my food, it was undercooked cold in ... the middle. It is obvious that the staff thinks their time is much more important than the customer. Not great value at $10 for a cold breakfast, especially when the service is poor. Found in the mall right near the North East side entrance facing Burrard station, this gem is a great find! If you're a tourist looking for a snack break or a downtown desk jockey looking for a quick breakfast, give it a try! The smoked meat breakfast bagel was warm ... toasty goodness!
