Wow! Holds almost 425 people seated for dinner. Excellent authentic food. Clean nice facility. Great for karaoke and corporate events!

Reservation made for dim sum. A tour group came with no reservation and the restaurant let them in bumping those with a reservation. Manager's response in Chinese were words to the effect of, "I don't fking care" and we could wait or leave. Group of 10 forced to wait 2 ... hours. Mediocre Dim Sum, but friendly service. If you've been around Vancouver and Richmond long enough, and you know Dim Sum well, Fraser Court Seafood most certainly is not "the best Dim Sum in town". The quality is rather coarse and the size of the individual pieces are far too large to ... represent the delicacy of traditional Dim Sum. Dim Sum (點心) transliterated means "pointing, heart", which can be understood as "pointing to your heart's desire". That is why Dim Sum restaurants typically have a large selection from the menu and the portions are small so you can taste a variety according to your desire. Historically, this was a luxury of kings and nobles who could afford such delicacies. However, as culture shifted Dim Sum was adapted as well and restaurants began to grow the size of their Dim Sum and quality dropped to compensate for costs but appeal to patrons who were looking for a better price to portion ratio. Fraser Court Seafood has kept up this price to portion ratio as evident by their lower price point and larger portion size. However, the quality certainly is not on the high end. The quality of Dim Sum can be deciphered by testing the skill of the master Dim Sum chef. For example, dumpling wrappers should be very thin, soft to the bite, yet chewy, able to hold the contents of the dumpling without breaking when picked up by chopsticks and does not glue to the dumpling next to it when steamed. This is the delicate balance of the ratio of ingredients to make the dumpling wrapper as well as the balance of the thickness of the wrapper to how much of the content it holds. Larger dumpling sizes means a necessary increase in the thickness of the wrapper. The highlight of this restaurant is their friendly service and welcoming attitude. Even if you arrive rather late for lunch and they are about to close, staff are happy to serve you and although you are asked to put in your order all at once, you may sit as long as you like with your party to enjoy the meal without feeling the pressure to eat fast and leave quickly. This has become a rare experience among Chinese restuarants. All in all, Fraser Court Seafood is still a decent Dim Sum restaurant that I have visited more than once. It is certainly not my top choice and does not represent the best that Vancoucer has to offer, but on occasion I may stop by if I am craving Dim Sum and it is a bit past lunch time. Read more

I am so sad with my last visit!!! I always enjoy spending time and eating with relatives here. However, I was shocked that we discover a purple plastic piece in our noodle dish!!! How does a purple plastic piece end up in the dish? I was mixing the noodle and ... discover it. I told the server but it doesn't look like she even care to inform the kitchen. Thanks goodness I found it and none of my family member choked on it. I am shock and would not go back to this place. They should check the quality of food and PREVENT serving food with plastic pieces. This is unsafe! Read more

Good tasty dim sum, large portions, great for family or large groups. Parking lot nearby. What more can you ask for?
