Overall I would recommend the hotel. Friendly checkin, all loyalty and rate perks offered straight away. Room is modern, yet for the class some furniture needs an overhaul on that standard. Room service and cleanliness was remarkable. Bed was comfortable above expectations. I had no issue at all with noise. Service ... during breakfast @Salt restaurant was friendly but overwhelmed with demand. We had to deal with long wait times for service. You will need at least one hour for a session. Food was worth the wait, it you have the time. Fitness studio was fully equipped with sufficient space. Rooftop Bar and Whirlpool had no charme - not worth considering it. Read more

We have never stayed in such a noisy Marriott hotel before!!! A very nice and well-kept hotel with a nice lounge, a good location and comfy bed. Rooms have good size. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. However, the big drawback here is that the rooms are very sensitive to ... noise and not soundproofed. Even on the 19th floor you can hear the cars driving on the street and the music from the bar in the parking lot. In addition, make sure that you are not near an BC Stadium event in the hotel, both the sound check days before makes the hotel shake and then you can't imagine what it's like at a real concert. Absolutely disturbing. There was a loud event with drums on the hotel terrace well into the night. If you are sensitive to noise, you are not in good hands here. It's the 1st time to visit the Hotel. Actually my friends played at the Casino nearby but I was not interested in playing at the Casino so I decided to sit at the Hotel lobby armchair to wait for my friends. First impression the staff at the front ... desk was very polite, she smiled and greet me and my son. Then we sat down at the armchair at the lobby. Because I had a tour visit at Downtown before coming to the hotel, so I was pretty tired when I waited for my friends (who were playing in The Casino inside the hotel ) . Unfortunately I fell asleep & unluckily I was waken up by a very impolite voice (very rude) : Hey! WAKE UP ! No SLEEP…… I heard that loud voice and startled to wake up. Very confusing and wondering what was happening. I saw a black male wearing a hat(I guessed he was the security ) standing in front of me. I couldn't respond right a way then he left. I thought the Hotel staff including the security, should be polite and respect the customers but I could not feel to be respected here. We came here for a ballroom dance competition and the women had lots of voluminous gowns and costumes. We were put in the Douglas building which is known as having boutique style rooms. The other building would have been far more appropriate! There was a tiny closet and only ... one drawer. It would be perfect for a man with 2 suits who was only staying for a day or 2, but for a 4-night stay with lots of costumes, it was very difficult. One of the best hotels we have stayed in. The rooms were spacious and really clean. The beds were so comfortable also the bathroom was well stocked with towels and all sorts of cleansing products. The staff were the best ever so helpful and as friendly. They were ... worth there weight in gold. The outdoor pool was fantastic and heated towels ready when u got out.
