Happened to drive past this place while driving on Hastings, and was drawn in by the wooden sign and logo, so me and my partner made a note to try it out some time and it did not disappoint! Inside it has very warm vibes, kind of bringing me back to ... some of the places I have visited in Japan, the menu is small and concise, easy to decide on what to get. I ordered the pork bowl which had one of the most tender pork I have ever eaten, and my partner ordered the vegan bowl which was very sizable and well seasoned. I would highly recommend for an afternoon snack as they have coffees and teas with cute sweets or a light lunch with their tasty bowls. Read more

Yama Café is a delightful spot that is reminiscent of an authentic small town Japanese café. Although there were only three food items, they were all delicious.
