Library Square Public House - Vancouver, British Columbia

Thought this was a dive bar but completely changed my mind after visiting the amazing patio with live music and oysters! The patio is a very nice atmosphere and has changed the area into a lovely hangout place! Great staff and a wide range of delicious food and drinks!

Honestly used to avoid this place because I always thought of it as a bit of a dive bar, but recently my view has completely changed. I showed up after the Snoop Dogg concert in Vancouver. Great place and was still open Aron severed me and man what a gentleman. Got my drinks asap and also a great conversationalist. Kept me talking the whole night. The poor guy was alone all night on a snoop dogg concert night. I ... have the upmost respect for him and all he did tonight. He has to clean the bathroom and the entire bar alone. What a frigging trooper. Best bar tender I met across North America. And you know me. All I do is travel. This place needs to see the worker they have. I would hire him in a heartbeat. The owners here have a gem of a worker. Respect that. Edit: I had Aron help me with two young ladies who were beating each other outside on the side walk. I’m former Army. I can say Aron as young man was cool in the head. I stopped them for a bit. Stopped by while downtown, they have outdoor picnic tables, when sunny it’s great. Haven’t tried the food here yet, stopped by for a Library Lager during happy hour. Parking on Homer in the block next to the Library is $1/hr (May 2024)

I saw the day special, and I went there on their patio on a sunny day. They had steak and fries special for 11$ plus a drink. The steak was very soft and juicy and cooked exactly how I liked it medium rare. It's the second place that they could cook ... the steak very well in Vancouver. The patio was very nice. It just was a very hot day. What they can do is to add some ice to water so customers can enjoy cold water while they're waiting for their orders It's right by the library very close to stations and downtown malls. It's a good pub to eat food or have some drinks when you're in downtown or after work. There's a playground that you or your kids can play. Read more
