Best pandesal ever! Fresh out of the oven

I never even noticed they are new owner but bought the Pandesa as a regular customer but noticed it wasn't the same . then I thought it was a mistake so i went back last week and was just waste of my money. i will never go back there. congratulations ... new owner you just lost a weekly customer. NEW: The store is under a new name and I’m pretty sure it’s under new ownership and management. AND LET ME TELL YOU IT HAS GONE DOWNHILL. The variety of products available has decreased. There aren’t as many snacks and canned food options compared to before. The quality of their “pandesal” is ... absolutely trash. Aling Mary’s pandesal was big, fluffy, and very neutral tasting, perfect for butter and/or dips into hot chocolate. This new owner skimps out on ingredients and it really shows. The flavour tastes off and the bread feels stale. And I know size isn’t everything but goddam they are smaller. I think the management might be Indian or some other South Asian place because there are Hindu figures in the store where the Catholic figures used to be and some of their products have changed from the Filipino brand to the nasty Indian brand. Bring back the old Aling Mary’s. Bring back the limping white dude that was always happy to see people in the store. Unlike these unhappy wannabe Filipinos who are using nostalgia to lure in customers. Bring back the old Aling Mary’s. OLD: If you like Pan de Sal (or pandesal if you’re into the millennial spelling) this is the place to get them. They’re always so warm, fluffy and delicious and for a great price! They also have a great assortment of Filipino snacks, chips, and cookies, and a whole selection of other great foodstuffs that many Filipinos enjoy! The original owners had sold the business a few months back. We go here every week for the hot pandesal (buns) it's a taste of home. The present owners have improved the business by offering more variety of Filipino food- pastries, canned goods, snacks, baked and cooked food, ... etc. At first they maintained the taste of the pandesal that Aling Mary was popular for but after 2 or 3months they started to change the flavour and texture of the pandesal. So we skipped going every week and decided to go and check it out after the 3rd week and again they changed the flavour and texture. It wasn't as soft, it was darker in color and the dough wasn't as compact so the holes were bigger and more. We're not sure what they're doing, but it's been discouraging and so we haven't been back regularly and now planning on going to the Surrey Aling Mary location, hoping they haven't changed signature pandesal.
