Black Frog Eatery - Vancouver, British Columbia

The staff member who served me was so friendly. I had a great craft cider (and was surprised to see British ciders on the menu!) and the black bean burger, which was delicious. I'd love to visit again before leaving the city.

Do not go here if John is the only server available. John will be condescending, act above you, and treat you like you should be lucky to be in his presence. That may not be so bad if he ever actually visits the table, but the fastest part of the ... dinner was paying, and that's only because we went out of our way to ask him for the check. The worst part of the experience is it we were one of three tables in the whole restaurant, where we waited over an hour for two appetizers worth of food. Visiting Vancouver for few days, we chanced upon this pub, which is just few yards away from the Gas Clock. It was a Sunday night and there were not many folks around. The food was very very good. We had chicken wings, poutine, moon burgers, and soup/salad. Plenty of beer ... selection. I can’t remember exactly we had but the beer were also very good. Exploring Vancouver and the sign outside caught our attention, so we had to check it out. Short walk from the steam clock located in Gastown. Everything was perfect 👌. The gentleman reccomend me a lager that hit just right. We stopped in for lunch, and we were very happy ... with our choice. It was relaxing and relatively quiet for downtown Vancouver. As a tourist, I wanted to get a quick bite somewhere with Poutine and a nice view. I got this and more! The bartender was so sweet. She was so patient with me and gave me awesome drink recommendations. I ended up with a cider and did try the ... IPA's. The soup and salad were fresh and delicious. I believe it was a chicken curry soup. I then ordered the Poutine with bacon and mushrooms. Very tasty! I loved how the place was right across the Gastown steam clock. So I was able to hear the steam go off while enjoying my meal and the view. If I ever come back to Vancouver, I will go out of my way to eat here again! Read more
