Update: (down to 3 stars) While I appreciate the fact there is new management, you always want to see people succeed. Young team, new ideas, they got rid of the plastic bags in favour of brown paper bags, but it leaked ALL over the floor of my car mats. Sometimes plastic ... just works! The food lacked the same skill/flavour that it's had the previous 5 times we've been here. The Manchurian noodles were more like tandoori noodles (strong curry powder flavour), the chili beef sauce wasn't emulsified, it was more like an oil, and the fried rice was wet and quite white (were used to seeing that brown-ness from wok and soy). Prices are still very reasonable, and the young gentleman at the cash clearly cared about the work, but they need to get the old recipes back. Lotus Garden used to rival Federiks - now not so much. See original review below Original Review: (4 stars) When it comes to Hakka, there is good Hakka and there is bad. Really just those 2 categories. The Good ones do their dishes properly and that's how I would rank Lotus Garden, it's on par with Federiks. Fried Rice has that nice 'wok-char' taste, the manchurian noodles are fantastic and spicy, and the gravies for their meat dishes are plentiful and flavourful. The portion sizes are fantastic on take out! I would rank it a 5 star Hakka joint, but where it loses out to a place like Federiks is in the ambiance and physical restaurant; I wouldn't want to sit and eat there. Also the parking lot has been terrorized by the nastiest potholes, for the last 3 years we've frequented this joint with no rush to get the lot leveled (I once bottomed out my car so hard I think it contributed to my flat tire the following day). Tried this old school joint for the first time today - was craving some good ol' chinese food and this place was just down the street from my work place. Had the "Chili chicken" lunch special - added fried rice for an extra 2 bux. Was very impressed! Picked it ... up in under 10 min - Will have lunch there again soon. Great food for the money. This dish was nice hottt and spicy too. (recommended). UPDATE: Tried the fried chicken on a bed of their fried rice today - Chicken, nice and crispy with an overload of egg fried rice... Will have again. Read more
Very nice ambience. We ordered fish pakora, special mixed fried rice, garlic chicken. Service was very good. And foods were very delicious. Quantity was very good, my wife and me could not finish all, so we took away the remaining foods. Staffs are very polite and courteous. Highly recommended for ... those who love Indian style Chinese food Read more
Prices are reasonable and food comes in good portion sizes. The service is also relatively quick. Ordered takeout only. The food is tasty and not salty. Lots of rice is given with the dishes and its definitely saucey.

Not recommended. American chopsuey was without egg and without fried noodles. Only veg and chicken boiled together. The quantity for the price was way to small. Chef surely does not know what they are making (the staff clearly told the chef what to make). Horrible: I’m never going back. Service staff ... was decent. Not recommended. Read more
