I really like their stromboli that comes at a good price.

This is going to be a lengthy review as I'd like to express to people looking to order here why I so highly disapprove of this restaurant. I am apart of a student-run organization at the University of Toronto and part of our event throughout the week was a Lunch & ... Learn that involved us ordering pizza in for 60 students. When comparing the costs of Slice of New York with other pizza locations, it offered the best price. Unfortunately the quality, service and overall impression was the worse I've ever experienced. Service: I have never felt so insulted. We booked the pizza to be delivered 1 week in advance and set the delivery time from 11:30am to 11:40am. 11:45am, no one shows so I gave them a call and the told us that they'd be there in 15mins (which is already unbelievable because our event started at 12pm). I had no choice but to tell them to hurry. 11:57am comes and I gave them another call, they said they're on their way (which is funny because they're located 10 mins walking distance away). I told them I'd be requesting for a discount and the person on the phone brushed me off and told me I had to speak to the person delivering the pizza. When the guy finally arrived at 12:10pm, he apologized countlessly, but it was non-genuine and could tell that he was brushing me off on purpose just to get him off my back. I told him I wanted a discount and he said no. He said he was giving me a good deal already. I explained to him that the deal was because we purchased $200 worth of pizza, the discount I now wanted was for him being 30 mins late even though he was notified a week in advance. And so I asked again and he said, "Stop wasting my time, you aren't getting a discount." Interesting that he said I was wasting his time when he just made me, our speakers, and students attending this event, wait 30 mins extra. As I pushed for the discount again, he expressed how he would be fine if we never went to do business again. I was making a call to the rest of my team to confirm the price and the minute I dialed the number, he got really defensive and said, "Why are you making a phone call, are you trying to scam me?" How ignorant did he have to be to say this. I am in a professional degree, in a public setting at school, and he thought I would have the time to actually try and scam him. Unbelievable. I knew I was wasting my time with him so I gave him the money and walked away. Never have I felt so insulted, I am in disbelief as to how some places can lack so much respect and decency for customer service. Quality: this was probably worse than pizza pizza: It was dry, lacked taste, and two slices were the equivalent of one slice at pizza pizza. Overall impression: never go here. All the food served here is halal. The owners are Muslims and known in the community. No alcohol served on premises. Quick service, good food and reasonable prices. Open late at night. Don't forget to try their Stromboli.

All good stuff. Food is fresh service is quick and prices are good.

I asked how long they leave their "strombolis" at room temperature for because they have meat and cheese in them, he answered "we make then fresh in the morning". I was in the restaurant at 3:30PM, I asked how many hours on average he said around 3-4. This was ... after I had purchased one and returned it because it was cold. So I had to explain to him that they should really make sure to reheat their product to the correct internal temperature and really should make sure that they aren't leaving them out at room temperature for that long.
