Pat's is a staple of Downtown, Toronto! I have been here once before and was pleasantly impressed by their Jerk Chicken meal. I found out recently that after 20+ years they will be closing down on September 23, 2023. I made it a mission to try it one last time ... with my Fiance who loves Jerk Chicken as well! They were decently busy, but we waited about an 1hr+ for our food as the service was very slow. This was a result of everyone having a quick chat with the man himself one last time and wishing him a Happy Retirement, so we weren't too bothered by the wait. As we approached the front of the line, they ran out of rice and peas so we wanted to wait for that as well to get the full experience! We ordered 3 Large Jerk Chicken Meals with Oxtail Gravy and Spicy Sauce on the side. I believe the Spicy Sauce is made in house and was very very good, enhanced the flavour significantly. We also ordered a beef patty whilst we waited for our food, it was extremely soft and juicy (I wish it was spicier). Just like I remember, the food was amazing and Pat's hit the spot again. We decided to come to Pat’s one last time before they close down for good. We ordered the large jerk chicken with rice and peas and oxtail gravy on top and a beef patty. The line up wasn’t as bad as we were expecting but we ended up waiting over ... an hour because they ran out of rice and peas. There’s a couple of seats inside but overall pretty limited. The chicken was flavourful and their spicy sauce really adds even more flavour. The coleslaw served on the side added nice freshness that complimented the meal too. The beef patty was pretty standard but was satisfying while we waited for our food. Overall we enjoyed our experience and we hope Pat enjoys retirement :) Read more

Great tasting Jamaican food. This is one of my go-to takeout spots. Jerk chicken is full of flavour and if you get the spicy sauce, takes the food to another level. Me and my friends truly appreciate Patrick and his staff for always providing fantastic food.

The place is small but worth the wait. The portions are more than enough. The atmosphere is upbeat with pictures of legends hanging all about the place.

Stumbled upon this place while on the hunt for Jamaican soup after 11pm. I was surprised to find a Caribbean place open this late but they had chicken soup so we checked it out. The place is definitely on the dingy side but the soup was decent. The flavour was a ... bit “off” and had more of a kick than I was looking for (personal preference). I probably would not return.
