Rustler’s - St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador

This was pretty disappointing. Without going into a ton of detail, I believe the server forgot to submit my order to the kitchen staff, so the person I was with received their food about 20 minutes before I received mine. As a result, we essentially both ate on our own. ... It wouldn't be that bad, but there was little transparency as to what occurred, and I got 3 separate "just 5 more minutes" check-ins from the server while not getting a single apology (service wasn't impolite, it just seemed to lack empathy / awareness). As for the food itself, it was average at best. The portions were good (and prices fair), but my pork chops were severely lacking any flavouring. The fries were just mediocre frozen fries. I did like the side of boiled turnip and carrot (not common in my area) and I was happy I ordered gravy, because it saved some of the lackluster elements on the plate. The person I was with was also not pleased with the quality of their meal (steak). I did see some burgers go out to other patrons that looked really good, so if someone was set on trying this place, I'd probably point them in that direction. Atmosphere was also lacking a little. I had the beef dip. REALLY good. Bread was super soft and fluffy. My only complaint was that i only got 2 ice cream sized scoops of mashed potatoes but evwrypne else ordered fries and their plates were heaped with them. I had a bite of my partners breaded chicken burger ... and it was honestly the best one i have ever had! Will be back to order my own! Staff was also super Friendly and helpful! Read more

We ordered Skip the dishes and got exactly what we ordered. The Homestyle mac and cheese was a huge hit with our kids! Very flavourful and creamy.

Had a delicious breakfast at Rustlers with my sister. We both had the Eggs Benedict and quite enjoyed the meal. The hollandaise sauce was cooked well, and the serving size was very generous. Service was excellent; we were checked in on a regular basis and had ample refills of coffee and ... waters. Will be back! Read more

Girlfriend really enjoyed her steak sandwich and loaded mashed potatoes. My fish and chips was ok, fries were fine but fish was a little under cooked with batter still mushy on one peice, not a huge deal as it wasn't the whole peice. Also they forgot our scallops but we ... didn't get charged for them anyway and our meals had us stuffed so we didnt miss them. Well be back and ill probably try something else but my girlfriend will have the same thing. Read more
