Woods Alehouse - Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

We looked at their menu online and decided to give it a try. Unfortunately it was more of a dive bar. It certainly smelled like one on entrance. We were stared at like we were in the wrong place so we didn’t bother to stop and went elsewhere.

Fantastic service, quiet and dimly lit. Comfortable seats and it feels like your in a parlor rather than a restaurant. They source local food, serve hand made food at a reasonable price. I ordered a burger and it tasted delicious! My only complaint is that how they present the burgers ... (wrapped up) takes away from the presentation and tends to make them messier to eat. A real gem! Tons of local SK beer on tap, a big list of bottled Belgian, ales and other beers. Only a couple of wines on the list. Good pub food, tried the empanadas, margherita and get er done pizza. Great food made in house, not just everything deep fried ... from frozen like most places. Good, friendly service. Really great pizzas and a great deal on them on Tuesdays too! Great casual ambiance with good music. Not sure why they aren't packed every night!

Great service, wonderful environment. Relaxed, fun, homey and yet still classy. Food is incredible, very well done. The chef definitely takes pride in his work. Great selection of beer, fantastic service, awesome food. What more can you ask for? One of the best places in Saskatoon!
