Every time I come to Saskatoon from Vancouver, this is the one places I REALLY look forward to eating at. Today was a different experience… I ordered my usual pork Sui Mai and chicken fried rice. The pork Sui Mai tasted great and flavourful as usual but, instead of chicken fried rice ... with extra veggies, I believe I was given the house fried rice. First bite I took had ZERO flavour. There was no chicken in the dish only pork and shrimp which is what leads me to believe I was given the house fried rice. The shrimp didn’t taste like shrimp and the pork was also flavourless, the rice had no seasoning in it at all and was dry and hard. I brought the rice back and explained to who I believe is the owner, that there is no flavour in the rice. Instead of offering to correct the issue he argued that they don’t put sauce in their rice and offered soya sauce. I told him that I don’t put sauce in my rice either but I will take the soya sauce to add to the dish in hopes to give it some flavour. He didn’t seem very friendly to speak to so I just left it at that. The right thing to do would have been to offer to fix it and make me a new dish from the very beginning instead of arguing. I feel that this restaurant is lacking in customer service and quality of their product. I have eaten your fried rice before and it was amazing. If your food has no flavour all of this sudden, doesn’t that tell you that perhaps your chef may have forgotten to add a little seasoning? It’s ok to make human error sometimes. That said, I didn’t even complain about getting the wrong dish. Read more
