La Planque - Quebec City, Quebec

Very good food and excellent presentation, but in all the dishes we found salt to be a dominant taste. Perhaps we had chosen the wrong dishes. Awesome cocktails though. Portions are small but ingredients are fresh. Service is quick and pleasant.

One of the best meals I've had this year and my dining mates did too. We will have to come back for the Chef's Choice on a Tuesday or Wednesday on a future trip to Quebec City. Our group of three chose four appetizers, two starters, and two mains through ... our three-hour dinner which was served with two bottles of lovely Sardinian wine. Lovely and complex flavour profiles and beautifully presented dishes. This place will not disappoint. Fun, casual, but attentive service which made the evening all the more special. We were highly recommended to dine in La Planque by our friends. So we went there to try the Blind Tasting Menu on the Tuesday night. All food were tasty delicious and we were enjoying it very much. We went on a Tuesday night so that we could take advantage of the Chef's choice pour deux and it was absolutely incredible. We were brave because the courses are completely blind and we loved everything we ate. The service was impeccable as well. The only thing I would say ... is we found this restaurant because we were looking for a place to bring a nice bottle of wine and found out upon arrival that you can not do that here. Other than that, we would definitely recommend this restaurant and if we are ever back in Quebec City we hope to eat here again! Read more
