The Auberge Place d'Armes is a great place to stay in the old city of Quebec. Everything from historical places to bars and restaurants is in close proximity and easy walking distance. My flight was significantly delayed, so I contacted the hotel, and the employees were very helpful and provided clear instructions on how to do a late night check-in. My room was cute, however one of the lights in the bathroom flickered on and off. Additionally, although there was a dead ... bolt on the door, there was not a slot for it to slide into, so it was useless. Water pressure was excellent, even in the attic room I was in! Amazing location, really easy to walk to everywhere in old quebec. We got the room in the attic and had a view to the chateau, just be mindful of the stairs if you plan on bringing luggage. Great service as well.

I love the feel and atmosphere of this hotel. I love historic buildings and this felt like a little piece of the past. It's right down in the old city, a prime location. We stayed in room #14 and it was very cozy. The room was small but the atmosphere was ... really great. Loved the stone walls and the fireplace, as well as the plaid wool blanket. The service was fantastic and the breakfast at the restaurant downstairs was amazing. The room could have been cleaned a bit better though, and the pillows were a little uncomfortable for me (back sleeper). There is no elevator in the building, but not too many stairs so it's not too bad. The parking is only a 5 min walk from the hotel, but this can be a little rough if you have lots of bags/suitcases to bring up. They do not bring your car to the garage for you, that's on you. The breakfast is not complimentary, it is $20 per person for the voucher. You must make a reservation. The breakfast is, however, worth the $20! Bacon was so delicious, and the servers are fantastic. There was no conditioner in the shower, so thankfully I had brought my own. The toilet paper was so thin and low quality. Despite a few things, I really enjoyed my stay. I would definitely return! I love visiting old Quebec city, it's so beautiful, cool, and filled with a rich history. So much to explore and so many great restaurants to sample. Read more
