Food here was excellent - I had a couple featured dishes, namely the chicken gumbo and the artichoke sole main. I didn't really think the gumbo was anything really special, but it had plenty of vegetables and was overall a decent soup. The main course was more impressive - I ... really enjoyed all three parts of it. One drawback was that the service was quite slow and they seemed almost understaffed. First and last time. Ordered seafood platter, the seafood was okay (not that much), bread not even toasted and lots of lettuce on side. Both my husband and I had fish and chips. Looked great when it came but it had no taste! Like none. It was worse than ... frozen fish you get at the supermarket!! The side salad was soggy and fries were hard. Such a dissapointment. Can't go wrong. Great atmosphere, staff and food. Totally feel the family vibe of the restaurant as well the staff makes you feel at home. Patio is hands down best in Markham you can often see the owner out taking care of the garden and flowers and picking herbs fresh ... daily. Read more

Been a couple of times in the last couple of weeks and each time note that the food is looking more and more like something you can pull off at home. There is no wow factor. they have a great patio but will close down early (way early) ... on you if they want to close up for the night. No biggie as the beer selection is poor. Read more

Love everything about this place. The entire menu is fantastic, dishes are always properly cooked and served at the right time. I've eaten here 10+ times and it has yet to disappoint. Family owned by really nice people. Two words: Johnny Melt
