They lack flavors and it's overpriced, this small bowl was $10

I have been to this Kingston location several times....tonight was disappointing. It was 8pm this location is open until 10 pm. I served chocolate it came out like syrup, i threw it out. I put some vanilla then strawberry. They came out like ice very like colour or yougurt like ... texture...flavorless. The toppings were low and some empty. There are several frozen dessert places in Kingston, e.g., White Mountain, Dairy Queen, Marble Slab, etc. but Menchie's is a different experience. From the pictures and descriptions on the walls, it appears to have originated in Los Angeles. The concept is to take a wide paper cup that fits in ... your hand, fill it from a wide selection of spouts that deliver various frozen desserts, top with various candies and sweets and pay the cashier based upon the cup weight. In our case, there were two adults and four children for a total bill of $70. That works out to $11-$12 per person and I think only one person in our group didn't finish their cup. The venue was quite pleasant being well lit and decorated. Everyone enjoyed what they selected as did the other 2-3 groups present who also may have come from the Peter and the Wolf evening production at the nearby Grand Theatre. Would we come again? The consequence of all the different choices is that you end up with a cup where everything blends together into a cold, sweet soup. That's quite different from enjoying a cold dessert that's quite distinct such as a hard or soft ice cream cone, a sundae with a particular set of toppings or a milk shake with a distinctive flavour and colour. Place was a complete mess. No one was in the store when we walked in including staff. After we got in the door and to the machines for the icecream etc the staff finally came out. Again cant say enough on how dirty it was melted product on almost every ... table&chair and mix-in everywhere as well. Read more

So dirty, the toppings look like they've never been replaced, there is such build up on the spoons, the containers etc. Probably months. So many flies all over the fresh toppings too. Not a lot of flavours available (a few slots don't have anything)
