Very disappointed and felt ripped off. Not worth the $100 we paid. The butter chicken and tikka masala sauces look curdled. Definitely not normal in my opinion. We called the staff to politely let them know that we felt disappointed and they told us that's how they've been cooking it ... since 1989. Then told us to buy from somewhere else. Very rude! I had been to Tara for lunch with a friend and enjoyed it so much that I took my husband. We each had the Thali (I had the veggie one and my husband had the chicken). We loved the freshly made lunch. Fair price, really nice hostess/waitress, ... and the tables are nicely set. We will definitely be bringing our friends along next time!! Read more

Tara Restaurant in Barrie exceeded all expectations. The Tandoor Platter and Madras Chicken Curry were delectable, bursting with flavor. The ambiance was cozy yet sophisticated, and the staff were incredibly polite and experienced. A five-star dining experience all around. Highly recommended!

We ordered the combo dinner BB for two persons. There are probably enough food for 4 persons 🤣🤣🤣. Love the shrimp jalfrezi and the lamb, they are very delicious. However, the vegetable curry is rather bland, almost tasteless! The appetizer and the dessert included are not bad! The rice and nan come ... with it are also good. I took the leftover back home with the plastic containers provided BUT…. they were broken and spilled everywhere in the paper bag. Looks like it’s common phenomenon discussed in other reviews! Our recent visit on Friday evening was excellent as always. We ordered the vegetable pakora to start which was accompanied with an aromatic and flavourful dipping sauce along with dal soup. Our main courses were Rogan Josh a sumptuous beef dish and lamb jalfrezi presented in a wonderful metallic Indian ... serving dish fashioned like a vase with a rustic exterior. Our meals were accompanied with palao rice and Chana masala. We ordered everything mild spicey heat wise you can order to any degree of heat from mild to very hot; the chef's are masters of their craft at Tara with perfectly seasoned and cooked food. The atmosphere is quite relaxed with a cozy vibe at Tara and run by a caring family that takes pride in the food they prepare for all to enjoy. Recommended, absolutely👍👍 Read more
