Made reservations for 5:30p.m. Friday, July 5th, for 17 family n friends. Was asked if it was an event we were celebrating. Yes, was my response. Family and friends arrived before we did and were sent to different sections of the restaurant. They were also ... told there was no reservation. When one server came to take our order, they were advised we had an event to attend and had to leave by 7:15p.m. I thought arriving by 5:30, there would be more than plenty of time to get meals ordered and people fed. The first meal came out at approx 6:57p.m. ONE meal. And we were told the rest would be about 10 minutes. My husband left at 7:10p.m. angry, p.o'd, and very frustrated with his meal dumped in two containers. One server continued to bring out two meals at a time. When I asked to speak to a manager or supervisor at the front of the restaurant, the woman I asked how she could help. I explained the situation. She apologized, short staffed, small kitchen, etc. I asked why I wasn't I advised when we arrived? She shrugged her shoulders. I said I invited family and friends to celebrate my husband, and the evening has essentially been ruined because of the lack of service on their part. She said maybe they could comp the drinks. That didn't happen. Extremely disappointed. Have been going to Wickie's for decades. Left a message requesting contact from the manager and have yet to receive a call back. We arrived at 5:30 pm July 5,2024 for a private function. Most of our party had already arrived and were already seated. The staff were informed we had to LEAVE by 7:00pm and were assured that wouldn’t be a problem. Except for one appetizer, the food did not start ... arriving until 6:57. I had to leave because we were attending an awards evening in my honour. I ended up dumping my food into 2 takeaways and leaving. The other guests (who were participants and family ), had to gobble down there food and leave since the event started at 7:30 (and were late arriving at the event due to the lateness of food arriving at the table). As I was leaving our guests at the restaurant, I noticed the restaurant was not particularly busy and there were other staff member's at a small table just hanging out. Went Friday night at 7pm. Was immediately told it would be minimum 45 minute wait for food. Not sure what the issue was, but we weren't in a hurry. There were maybe 5 tables occupied. Ordered drinks, waitress was great. She took our food order, came back and said they ... were out of nachos. Changed order to spinach dip. Waitress came back said they were out of spinach dip. We decided to go elsewhere. Waitress was kind enough to comp our drinks. How do you run out of food by 7pm on a Friday night? I was skeptical to go here in the first place because of the poor word of mouth reputation this place has and how terrible the management supposedly is. There were plenty of servers around and plenty of empty tables. I felt bad for the waitstaff, they had to keep relaying bad news. Reputation confirmed, won't be going back. Don't waste your time. It's our favorite place to go. My husband goto for fish and Chips. I love the Cobb salad.

This service was disgustingly HORRIBLE. The waiters were slow and did not dress sigma, the food was plain and bland. I had to ask REPEATEDLY for a drink and did not receive one until I went up to the bar and complained, this restaurant is truly not alpha I recommend ... not coming! Read more
