I used to come here a lot when I was a kid. It was a staple in Kits. It has been years since I went, and we were excited to have some dolmades, octopus salad, spanakopita, and baklava for desert. Unfortunately, it has gone way downhill. ... The owners were rude, the place was filthy, the food was old, and for these four lunch items it was $40.00. Travelled through Greece and many other places, and in all honesty this place has the finest souvlakis I've ever had. I also shop at the other Greek gems in kits, but this one is special.

Frankly I'm surprised this place is still in business with Parthenon, their far better competitor, across the street. I've been here a few times and tried a few things now but I won't be returning. Most of the items behind the glass look rather unappealing, but I can say that ... the tzatziki and artichoke dip are good, as are the spinach and cheese pies. The baklava is delicious as well. But the Greek salad was not fresh, the tomatoes tasted soggy and old. It was also given to me without vinaigrette. The atmosphere of the store itself is dark and dingy. The owner is probably the most unfriendly person I've ever come across while being helped at a business. She should not be working the counter or in customer service at all. Twice when I've been in there and she's helped me, I have offered some friendly light conversation while she's ringing me up and she only nods to acknowledge that she's heard me with a straight face and no response. I find her cold unfriendly attitude so insulting I will never spend my money here ever again. I suggest you go to Parthenon across the street, the food and selection is FAR better, the atmosphere is clean and bright, and your business will be appreciated. Read more
