The place was packed right around dinner time and cleared out pretty quickly in a little over an hour. Service was alright, and the seats were a bit uncomfortable. My friend and I visited TownClear a few nights ago. We ordered a variety of salads and a bottle of wine. While the food was acceptable, the salads didn't stand out in terms of freshness or flavor. I feel like I give out 5 stars top easily but in this case it's well deserved. Here's why: It's a German/Belgian pub, so similar to English and Irish but different enough to be fun. They have a lot of Munich beer including Hofbrauhaus on tap! They have a big patio right on ... the street and is in a nice old row house building so lots of character. Inside was surprisingly cozy and upscale. We stopped for a patio drink but stayed for dinner because it was so nice inside. Food was incredibly tasty. Had roast beef, Belgian Onion soup, and Schnitzel. Just like in Munich! Prices were on par with Toronto restaurants. Service was 10 out of 10. Waitress was super nice, speedy, and even put a candle in a dessert when she overheard it was my daughter's birthday. Definitely going back again. Read more

They have an extensive selection of Belgian and German beers. The Red Cherry Delirium, in particular, stood out with its superbly fruity and sweet taste. However, I found the food options to be somewhat limited, with only around five main meals available. While the chicken schnitzel and burger we ordered were ... tasty, they were on the oily and fatty side. I would suggest expanding the food menu to offer more variety and healthier options. Unfortunately, my dining experience was marred by an incident with the waiter. A friend of mine misplaced his hat during our visit, and when he tried to quickly check if it had fallen nearby, the waiter hurried us out and did not allow us or himself to check, which was disappointing. We ordered Weiner (veal) schnitzel and Bellman's Sausages. I did not like the schnitzel at all. It was a very very thin slice of veal and really dry. Didn't have much flavour. The coleslaw on the side was yummy. My fries were not good either, mostly broken small and burnt. However, ... we really liked the sausages. tasty and juicy. For drinks we had the spiced cocktail, and G&Ts all of which were great. I'll go again but definitely not order the Weiner Schnitzel. Read more
