The Rex Hotel Jazz and Blues Bar - Toronto, Ontario

The rooms were fine, decently clean. We came during a hot time and the air conditioning was not running so the room was very hot on arrival and the tiny window unit struggled to cool the room until night time. The bathroom situation is weird, if you do not have a ... private bath the shared bathroom is like one you would find in a house; one shower, sink and toilet behind a door. Had a great night here listening to jazz. The music was excellent and the waitperson and staff on the door were very pleasant. I was initially a bit skeptical about the food but the burger and fries we ordered were really good (this coming from someone who can be a ... bit food snobby). The place was fairly busy but given the quality of the music and the ambience, I was surprised it wasn’t full. Toronto people - you are so lucky to have this place! Read more

good if you just need a bed! was only doing a 1.5 day trip, not spending a lot of time in the room itself, just needed a bed and a toilet but didn't wanna break the bank. it was perfect for that! the bed isn't very comfortable, but the pillows ... are amazing. VERY clean, which was my main priority. definitely a good fit if you don't want anything fancy! didn't have a chance to check out the jazz bar but from what I heard, it's amazing. Read more

For the price my expectations were not very high BUT I was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean, the music wasn't loud at a reasonable bed time and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Also a decent breakfast to be found at the bar. And if you are into ... exploration neat locations, you cannot beat being on Queen street! Read more

This rating is for the Jazz and Blues Bar. It’s a really simple and nice bar beside the Hotel and we went a little early so we could get nice seats to enjoy the evening. Your cover charge for entering (for 5:30 show is $10 PP) is added to your bill. They started ... the show promptly and we enjoyed every minute of the show. Service at your table is prompt. We just ordered drinks and an appetizer so cannot comment on the food. Parking on a Saturday is not easy in the Green P as it gets full but there are lots of parking options in the area so do your research before you head to the place if you are driving.
