Shamone - Toronto, Ontario

So glad we happened upon Shamone! We were looking for a place to have after dinner cocktails, and were intrigued by the purple lights, greenery in the window, and the sign saying "We are a bar"! A very chill, eclectic and laid back atmosphere - and excellent cocktails! Our bartender ... was delightful - really personable, knowledgeable and helpful - we were having trouble choosing from all the interesting options. The Good: The ambiance and layout. So unique, and so fully of potential for great parties. The venue is very clean and welcoming! The Great: The drink selection and staff service. They are great, but during busy times, not everyone is getting served. This can easily be improved. + BONUS: They offer ... free platter/finger foods on most weeknights, including pizza, crackers, deli meets and veggies. Very cool and unique! I had a great time at Shamone this past weekend. A friend of mine rented it out for a charity event. Drinks/ music was great, venue has a really nice atmosphere and it's easy to walk around. Highly recommend!

Great place with a great vibe for some weekend drinks. Decent beer menu and great munchies to go along with your drinks. The servers look like they enjoy serving, which is always a great thing. The location makes it an easy come easy go kind of a place.

I really want to like this place.... but I just can't. The seating isn't very comfortable. Either picnic tables or seats around the bar. At the back is a dance floor which seems like it could be fun as the music is crazy loud. But the problem is is that ... it's very bright inside. Who wants to dance under bright lights?! You want it darker right? The drinks aren't great either. I got the signature drink when I was there and it was terrible. Tasted like sugar and tonic and candy. Just. No. I don't recommend. Read more
