McQueen’s Pub - Toronto, Ontario

I loved this place! Stopped here after our first choice was bust. The inside is nicer than I expected, but far from fancy. There's a small-ish section to the front and then a larger party area to the back. I wasn't there for a party, so I'll talk about the ... front. The bartender was really nice, very laid back and quick. The other customers could be lively but not obnoxious. The food was tasty. After a while, the people at the window left, so we moved there. Great looking bar with friendly staff. I did not try the food. But you're in Leslieville. 6 breweries within 5 min drive (Eastbound Brewing, Saulter Street, Radical Road, Rorschach, Godspeed, Leftfield, Louis Cifer) with none available on tap/can/bottle. It was a nice, posh little pub. Just from being in there and working I can tell that it is the kind of place that has its' regulars and values them. So why the three stars? Price! Their cheapest pint is a $6 PBR. That is quite high for Toronto, ... though I could not speak for the rest of Leslieville. If you can afford it, though, and want to have a nice place to go and grab... A pint or two after work this certainly would float that boat. Read more

A simple local watering hole, with an eclectic mix of regulars and locals. Great rotating beers and ownership and staff truly interested in the product that they sell. No real wine list but a couple of options for both red and white wines. Classic bar fare on the menu is ... good quality, and the entire vibe is very lowkey and excellent for a quiet night. Had a great time here the other night. Surprised by how good the food was, some great beers available, cozy atmosphere, and the owner/bartender was extremely nice. Very much had that "local pub" vibe to it. We'll be visiting often.
