I will always love this place!! I have been coming to this location over the last 2 decades, and now we are able to celebrate the 12th birthday of our son here. Jack Astor's has become his favorite restaurant to celebrate his special occasions...and with good reason. The service is amazing, ... the food is amazing and delivered in time, and the dining room is always a vibe. Today, there was a DJ playing great music (censored), and it made the day even better. We had 3 generations of family attend, and they all loved it here, so trust us when we say this is definitely the place to go!! They have so many great food options from their regular and summer specials to their kids' menu that features a drink, main course, and dessert. If you have a large gathering, there is apple seating on their wrap around patio, the bar, and the dining room. Priced at $26.97 before tax, I politely queried the server about the portion size, to which I was informed it's based on weight. However, the serving ... was dishearteningly small, lacking the substantial tuna expected from a main dish. Comparable establishments offer more generous portions at a lower price point. While the flavors were commendable, the value for money was lacking, leaving me dissatisfied. On a positive note, the attentive service was appreciated, with our server generously offering a 15% discount due to extended wait times for our meals. We came here a couple weeks ago (when there was a glorious stint of sunshine) and sat on the patio. The service, food and atmosphere was excellent! I really loved the fact that they had their gluten free options clearly labelled and the food was amazing. The nachos were delicious, the ... chicken and goat cheese wrap (which I had on a gluten free bun) was really tasty and had loads of flavour.
