Very good experience. I ordered the Mexican chicken bowl, and the spicy salsa really hit the spot. Our server, Vanessa recommended the lemon blueberry tart for dessert, which was another winner. If you time your dinner right, you can see the sunset reflecting off of the glass windows of the building ... across the street. Read more
I had a surprisingly great experience dining at the Yonge Street Jack Astor's today. The server, Vanessa, was extremely attentive to my likes and dislikes. She checked in with me intermittently to ensure I was enjoying my meal selections. Bravo! Next time, I will return with a few friends.
I adored this place! I arrived here on a Saturday without a reservation and expected to be turned away, yet I was not! I wanted to give this place five stars, but the atmosphere seemed a little off. I just found it too noisy for my taste, and the tables ... were a touch too close together! On the other side, their menu is fantastic and offers a wide range of alternatives that anyone would enjoy. I started with the Jacks garlic pan bread, which was delicious. I finished with the sauced and tossed tenders in the buffalo sauce, which were amazing. I overall enjoyed my time here! Give this place a try! Read more
Absolutely fantastic spot to gather with friends and family! The atmosphere and service are top-notch, complemented by great music and ambiance. Personally, I adore their beer and cocktails. The veggie nachos, Mushroom + Gruyere Cheese Dip, and Crispy Chicken Sandwiches were all incredibly delicious. Regardless of the location, this place ... remains one of my absolute favorites, but this particular one stands out as the best for me. Highly recommended! Read more
This location is conveniently located along Yonge St. (North of Sheppard Ave and a few minutes walk from either North York or Sheppard subway stations). The restaurant has 2 floors and an additional top floor patio during the summer months - accessible by stairs or elevator, and both floors have washrooms. ... If you prefer a bar atmosphere with higher tables and seating, the main floor is for you - some nights, they have a DJ playing and trivia nights. The second floor is more family and group seating (mixture of booths and tables). Make sure you advise them of food allergies or dietary restrictions because they normally don't ask. I have visited this location many times throughout the years and have seen many changes with their menu. The food variety is as you would expect, a bit of everything but nothing outstanding. You can't go wrong ordering wings and burgers; unfortunately, their nachos can either be ok or really salty, and the portion sizes and ingredients are inconsistent. Sometimes, it looks like you are getting what you are paying for, but other times, it seems like you're getting ripped off. (Friendly reminder, this is not a steak house or Italian restaurant, so order at your discretion). Beverages offered are okay, something for everyone. Atmosphere and staff are good vibes, good music played throughout, although sometimes the menus can be sticky LOL (try to remember your server's name, it helps during their peaks hours when you need to get their attention). Paid street parking is available and parking lots are close by either at Empress Centre or Sheppard Grande Centre (if you prefer in-door parking). Read more
