I and another person had registered ourselves on the guest list, which was instantly confirmed by an email. Both the website and the confirmation email stated that the people on the guest list would have free entry. The website states that the Sunday opening hours of the club are from ... 10p.m. We arrived at 10:40 and the place was open, music was playing, and bouncers were outside. Yet one bouncer told us that they weren't open yet. We queried it by pointing out that the website and Google stated that they'd open at 10. The bouncer said that we should come at 11. We came back at 11 and presented the email with the confirmation of the guest list. The bouncer said that I, the lady, would go free and put a stamp on my wrist, and my companion, who was a man, would pay a "REDUCED" cover of 15 dollars. We immediately queried this by pointing out that both the website and the confirmation email stated nothing about any covers - reduced or not. The bouncer said that since it was Halloween, they'd charge the "reduced" cover which they had reduced from $20 to $15 because it was a Sunday. The bouncer clearly didn't like the fact that we - primarily I - queried it, and gave us a slight attitude despite the fact that I queried it in a calm and elegant tone without even slightly raising my voice or otherwise escalating the debate. We left. We left, because we figured that: 1. if they advertise 10p.m. as the opening hour and are open, yet tell us to come back at 11, that's a negative sign already 2. the bouncer got "smart" thinking that he could pull $15 out of us on a SUNDAY, when other - even nearby - clubs charge the $15 as a STANDARD, not "reduced" SATURDAY fee 3. and another "smart" argument of the bouncer was that it was Halloween.... It was not. It was the Sunday before Halloween. So Halloween parties would be this weekend far more likely than last weekend. I honestly strongly question the arrogance and business acumen of the owners or management of this club. Not only does this place have low enough rating on Google alone, let alone other review sites, but it still - despite all that - treats even first-time potential customers with the elegance of letting them wait in the street for 20 min while the club is clearly open for business - AND all that on a SUNDAY which is not exactly the highest earning night! Hmmmmm..... I'm surprised that Cure is surviving in today's environment of competition and high standards of customer orientation. Read more
