A group of five of us came last night for a friend’s birthday and it wasn’t great. Firstly, the young male host seating us asked my short yet clearly adult friend if she needed a kids menu. He tried to laugh it off blaming being tired but it wasn’t funny. The ... apps were good (pretzel and calamari), our server was great and friendly but the mains were just not good. The chicken in my Southwest bowl and the birthday girls chicken sandwich didn’t even resemble or taste like chicken. It was so dry and hard I thought they were croutons in my salad and her chicken sandwich looked like deep fried cardboard. My friend called the manager over who was nice but all he did was immediately apologize and jump right to “you don’t have to pay” and took off. He didn’t want to actually ask or listen to why we were dissatisfied. I worked as a server for years and I assure you I’m no Karen. If someone is complaining about the food I suggest you listen and fix the issue otherwise you’ll have complaints all night, which I imagine he may have. Considering how expensive it is to eat out these days I would come back for a beer on their lovely patio but I wouldn’t spend my money on food unless the quality improves. Read more

When we got there we got seated right away on the patio like we wanted. The prices for food were pretty good, especially on harbour of Toronto. Since we came on a more windy day, it was a little chilly. The waiters had no trouble letting us move inside. The ... food was made very quickly. This was delicious. The fish was soft. The sauce was great. The fries were also very good. I feel like there should be a little bit more food options for salads and tacos. The music playing inside wasn’t too loud or too quiet. While the staff overall is friendly and knowledgeable, we had a disappointing encounter with the host. Since we didn’t have a reservation, the host was quite rude, which took away from the otherwise positive experience. However, once seated, the service was prompt and attentive, even during busy times. Overall, Amsterdam Brewhouse provides an excellent experience for both locals and tourists alike, despite the initial hiccup with the host. must try their smoked beef brisket to tender and flavorful. The Salad was good as well. Our service was nice and accomodating. Lucky that we were able to got seated at their patio with a nice view.

They have great outdoor seating by the water. We ordered pretzel, calamari appetizer, kale salad, smoked burger, brisket Mac n cheese and chicken snitzel. Everything was delicious. And we like the 3 speed beer. Really refreshing. Great for hot summer day.
