Had a great experience here. They gave us a free starter of chips and salsa. The chips were stale but they quickly replaced them with fresh ones once we asked. Our server recommended the fish tacos and my friend and I both ordered them and they were delicious! We were ... here on thanksgiving day and were surprised at how busy it was for a day you would expect people to be at home. The churros were also very tasty, and the amount of ice cream you get with them is very generous, I had it to myself but easily could’ve shared. I only wish for a chocolate dip in lieu of cajeta. Cute little place to stop for a Mexican craving. The drinks were absolutely thirst quenching! I just wish the carne taco(seen in photo) had a little more to it, like sauce or greens. Good overall for service, drinks, food and vibes. Patio seating as well!

We had a party of 6 on a Friday and they were able to seat us quickly. The servers did well answering questions and making recommendations. The sauces with the chips and guac were very flavorful and a must try. I ordered the chicken burrito which was delicious. The chicken ... was moist and it filled me up. The tacos looked good as well. Restaurant was quiet when we went around lunchtime so we were seated right away. Service was quick and attentive and the food was fresh tasting and delicious. Highly recommend the Quesabirrias, they were flavourful and filling. Loved the cocktails too.

I wanted to write a review the moment I left Hugos Mexican Kitchen but reading the responses the owner gave to bad reviews just gives them a bad name. Honestly, the food was great. The flavors were very authentic what I am use to. The win for me were ... there salsas, absolutely delicious. The tacos were really good, especially the cauliflower ones! We were seated quickly, the table was a bit sticky and our waitress seemed like she just didn’t want to be there. Not once did she ask us if the food was okay, or if we needed anything. I had to ask for more salsa, more water, and for the bill even after she cleared our table. One of the dishes she brought us for our appetizer was dirty, we asked for a new one. The bathroom unfortunately had fruit flies sticking to the wall. Overall, the food was good, but the service could have been better. I was so excited to go since their instagram screams local Mexican food with great atmosphere, but nothing really of the sort. They do a great job advertising on instagram. Read more
