If I could give this place a negative star rating I would. Do not let the nostalgia reel you back in if you used to eat here back in the day. This place has not been the same since ownership has changed. We spent $68 on three four item meals. ... Nothing on my plate tasted fresh, not even the vegetables in the chop suey. I would go to the food court in the mall before I came back here. The best thing we had was the sweet and sour sauce. It was even a big deal to give me a plastic bag for my order, the older male would have rather I left with all of my food in my ripping paper bag. Read more
Well we got our food delivered fast but other than that 0⭐ given 😒 their almond chicken tastes like nothing, I mean NOTHING! Very sad from what the original Rick Shaw used to be 😥 because it used to taste like western style Chinese food, their dishes tasted like the ... title/name of each dish they were meant to be! Rickshaw is not meant to be fancy, decadent, or anything chic; I found it a touch disturbing that some people expected something along the lines of a Michelin-starred restaurant. It is a basic, Chinese-Canadian restaurant - nothing more. I can only write on the fact I've ordered through Skip and not ... eaten there. It is exactly what it is supposed to be - fast, filling, and decent food. Even ordering for delivery, where prices are usually exorbitant, it is affordable and the portion sizes are exceptionally large. It's filling food for a good price. Maybe not the best place for your tenth anniversary date, but you won't be hungry for a while after you eat. Read more
Honest review, this used to be my family’s restaurant for all events for over a decade when it was across the street, everything was better back then but those were simpler times, they moved across the street and got new owners and the place did a complete 360 when it ... came to quality of food and the service. My grandma had a bad experience with the food and service here maybe 2 years ago after they moved and came under new management, I had a bad experience as well. Buuuuuuuuuuut… here’s the thing.. they have a 9.4 on skip the dishes and I can see why. Ordering the simple things here (combos) (fried rice, pork, chicken etc) are dirt cheap 20.19 total with everything to your door from skip is an amazing price for a $14.99 combo and the portion size is huge. Food is great (better than I remember) and i order it almost every week. I’ve picked it up a few times in store and met the new owners (again) with a completely different experience, the nicest couple!!!! My opinion of this place has drastically changed. Let people right their wrongs and always give a place a second chance. The 14.99$ combo and the 18.99$ combo are where it’s at!!!! I wouldn’t suggest ordering 100$ in food from here & obscure items but this is the place to go for affordable lunch and dinner combos and I would say it’s definitely worth it! Places have their ups and downs & right now this place is definitely on an upswing!!!!!! Go here and eat!!! The reviews here make this place out to be a disgusting trash dump that serves cat and dog. not true!! While they don’t deserve 5 stars totally they definitely don’t deserve a score as low as 2. Edit: some of the reviews on here are brutal but I can assure you me eating good food here isn’t a one off I order the same combo literally once a week probably over 20 times now (sweet n sour pork- fried rice & fried wonton) it has been perfect every single time !!!!!!
