Sushi King George - Surrey, British Columbia

I cannot begin to describe how disappointed I am after my experience at this establishment. The service was sub-par as the servers lacked interpersonal skills and overall communication. The restaurant had a strong smell of public washroom. We ordered a Salmon teriyaki bento, let's begin there: the sauce they provided ... was minimal and the salmon was dry and tasteless. We ordered the black dragon roll as well as the red dragon roll. Both did not look like the picture on the menu and tasted horrendous (the red dragon roll has salsa on top of it which was not listed on the menu), we ate a singular roll out of each plate and put the rest of the plates aside. When we asked for our bill, we asked for our two rolls not to be charged as we did not enjoy the order and did not want to take it to go. Our server was not understanding of this and would insist we pay full price for the order. We tried meeting in the middle and suggested paying for half of the price of the nearly untouched rolls. She said we needed to pay full price and would not entertain any sort of compromise. Overall, the atmosphere was suffocating, food was absolutely horrendous, and service was frustrating. Ordered Gyudon. The beef was over cooked and not enough. Ordered Ebi Sunomono. Very small portion considering the cost. Service was very pushy. And, they were asking for a minimum 20% tip on the debit machine..

Ordered some takeout one night that I just wanted to chill in my hotel room. Quick online order of a few rolls plus a miso soup is what was submitted. The rolls were fresh filling and tasty. Just love the seeet yam roll and BC roll. Ordered some salmon sashimi ... also and it was on point. When in BC one must indulge in West coast salmon. Definitely a good place quick and efficient. If you’re in Surrey and craving a quick sushi fix, this is the place for you! Staff is very welcoming and service is super fast! Food is always great, there’s a variety of sushi rolls to chose from and there’s something for everyone. I’m not a fan of raw food ... so this works out great for me! Everything is super fresh and just melts in your mouth. We got the combo platter with 8 sushi rolls, it’s a big portion and we had leftovers as it was only 2 adults. The prawn tempura is a must try it’s so light and crispy just how a perfect tempura should be! Overall this place is a 8/10 for me! Loved everything about this location. Not much of a choice of non-alcoholic beverages here but there’s always green tea which is good for a cold day in Surrey BC. Read more

Delicious food and superb service!!! The sashimi were fresh, thick slices. Highly recommend the tuna tataki, viva las vegas roll, salmon oshi (very very gooddddd). We also got tuna carpaccio ON THE HOUSE yayyy, soo goodddd. Will definitely coming backk ❤️❤️❤️
