The food is ok not bad but not great - the options are limited which sucks because there's literally nowhere else for food on campus other than Tim's and the vending machines so I which they would step up the food options at grassroots. I always come here for mac and cheese and london fog, which are the best things they have on the menu. The mac and cheese is very cheesy, albeit the pasta is a little overcooked and too soft. This place is the definition of hit or miss. The food is great, don't get me wrong, much better than the Tim Horton's on campus, but the service.. sometimes super speedy and great, sometimes extremely slow, and honestly the staff looks scared of their boss. Super specific about portion sizing, I ... asked for a little bit of cheese on my mac and cheese, and got flat out told no.. When you have mac and cheese should there not be cheese on it??? I'll come back and give this place another chance, but my last experience was particularly bad. The tall caucasian dude with the light blue eyes, somewhat curly dark brown hair and black hoodie was very friendly and nice, quick service with him too, havent seen him in a while which is a shame. An amazing little spot. Always clean and tidy, with plenty of seating. Staff are always friendly. A nice place to sit down and relax after a long class. Food has been wonderful and they do offer some gluten free options. There is a small student discount offered at this cafe.
