Fatburger - Surrey, British Columbia

The girl behind the counter was dour for lack of a better word. Having never been to Fatburger I didn't know how to order or what to expect on my burger. The girl was very monotone, robotic almost, no emotion. She did not speak very loudly so I had to ... get her to repeat things. The burger itself was weird tasting, something not quite right; my burger was just mayo, cheese and raw onions. It didn't take long for the burger & they bring it to your table. The restaurant itself was clean; not very busy, maybe 6-8 younger people at a table celebrating the end of the school year (well behaved, not rowdy or loud, kudos to them 😊) & 2 people coming in as I was going out. The washrooms aren't marked (the typical men/women signage) & were locked but not a employee in sight so I used the wheelchair access washroom as the door was propped open; the door didn't sit in the frame properly, there was space under the door and up the side of the doorknob. I prayed the lock worked & nobody rattled the knob trying to get into the washroom. Overall, a poor "first impression", I have no intention of going back any time soon, if ever. Note: I only had a burger, no fries no drink, nothing, just the burger and it was almost $10. Oh, and the tip container was a bit off-putting as it had 2 sections: one for large tips (for bills I'm guessing) and small tips (coins). And no, I'm not going to complain about the price vs product. Nice and clean place with well organized space and friendly staff. Awesome burgers for reasonable price.

If this location was my first experience with Fatburger, I would probably never come back The burger was bitter for some reason the staff was unfriendly and the atmosphere depressing with rust on the ceiling. Breakfast served until 4pm! Did not know and was very surprised with the whole meal for my lunch! Eggs were perfectly done, hash was seasoned perfectly and just the right bite size, and the 2 pancakes were thin but huge while soft and soaks up the butter and syrup 😂! Fat Burger has changed something since my last visit 3 years ago...currently the burger lacked seasoning of any kind, no salt whatsoever and such a dry tough 'Angus beef' patty ! Looks pretty but devoid of flavour and chewy certainly not 80/20 as burgers should be. Fat Burger fries were ... unseasoned and just bland bland bland.I have never walked away from fries until now.Peanut oil imo always propells a French fry into the flavoursphere but these just fell Into the ocean of bland. I will say the bun was soft,fresh and delicious along with the tasty green relish but that is where the deliciousness ends. Service however was excellent and they actually serve u. Fat Burgerneeds 2 season their food and use regular ground 80/20 beef cos marketing ur beef as 'Angus' should be an indicator of a juicy,seasoned burger and not a tough flavourless chewy patty. Absent from the .wal.was malt vinegar, fries love malt vinegar js. If u look at my close up burger pic u can c the patty is falling apart at the edges, dry and crumbly.
