I’ve been coming to Nordal sushi for at least 20 years! That on its own says a lot, quality has been on point since day one. I live in Chilliwack now and still drive out to Surrey to go to Nordel Sushi.

I've been wanting to check this place out for a while. I finally got the chance and I'm not disappointed. Came here at 4pm on a Wednesday and got the AYCE Dinner menu. I don't get why other reviewers had a bad impression about this place, but I didn't see anything ... that was a major concern. On the contrary, it's one of the better AYCE sushi places I've been too. Sure the sushi might seemed like it had more rice to them (not all rolls, but some), but this is a AYCE place. You won't find a AYCE/Buffet that doesn't add extra starch or whatnot to bulk up the food. The sashimi is limited to 20 pieces per person and a bit smaller then the usual gigantic pieces and the negiri is definitely half the size of a regular piece you'd find anywhere else; the fish/topping they don't skimp on either. The tempura is crispy/crunchy, the prawns are regular sized and the yam are half pieces. The gyoza was nicely crispy as well. Personally, I would get the chicken teriyaki. I was hoping for a more crispy skin, but it fell flat when it arrived to the table; it could've been the sauce though, but the chicken did seem a little dry/tough. When I think of this place now, I think of sensible/petite pieces. Which is great because it gives you a chance to try other things on the menu. The service was quick and the servers are attentive. The best thing is they don't even skimp on your food. I've gone to many other AYCEs and when you order, you're missing a few items; hoping they you eventually forget. This place doesn't do that. Came here for a birthday dinner and I don't usually eat sushi. I gotta say tho, the food was pretty good. The crunchy rolls and yam things were delicious, while the other stuff I tried wasn't bad either. $40 all you can eat.

Rotten avocado in my last order of California rolls, very disappointed. I have eaten here many times in the past. It has been a while due to Skip the Dishes boycott, but I was in the area so I did a pickup order. The order was done on time, as it ... always has been. Service was fine. Prices are fine. The food has always been a bit on the quickly made side but the prices were good enough so no complaints. Rolls are often a little inconsistent but portions were fine. This time though, rotten avocado in multiple California rolls bought for my kids! Lots of dark spots and dark areas, some maybe from contact with nori but some clearly not. It was so bad I had to pick through everything to make sure food was safe to eat. It really ruined my experience and broke my trust. This much brown avocado would have been quite obvious to the chef, so no excuse IMO. Read more
