Absolutely loved this restaurant. We were there for the first time to celebrate my birthday we were wowed by their flavourful dishes, warm welcoming ambience and exceptionally good service. I personally loved the lamb shoulder.Definitely
Amazing place for an Afghan meal with amazing atmosphere. I'd heard good things about Zarak (same owners, downtown) from a friend, and was excited to try this place. The service was so so friendly and helpful, and the carpeted floor seating area made for a really cool experience. We got a ... platter for 4 with multiple dishes, and they were all delicious! The lamb shank is especially tender and delicious. Read more
Food and service was incredible. We ordered the KBL to YVR and the platter was tasty. The desserts though were the stars for me. Mum's secret cake and shir yakh pint ice cream hit the spot. I'd come just for the desserts. So good and satisfying.
We LOVED everything we ordered for lunch here! Happy hour was a great deal and the portions were very generous. We really enjoyed the Bolani, Mantu Dumplings, and the Afghan Chicken. Everything was so tender and flavorful! We also appreciated that our waiter gave us individual checks matching what we ... each ordered (for a party of 4) and even split the appetizer cost four ways. First time visiting Afghan Kitchen in Surrey in late June. Interior is pretty bright with tall ceilings. We ordered the KBL to YVR platter as it had a little bit of everything... eggplant, potato, sautéed spinach, chicken kebab, and lamb shank for $74. The lamb was super tender and I really ... liked the eggplant. The chicken kabob was huge. We upgraded for the Afghani rice and it was probably the weakest point on this platter. I've had it at other Afghan restaurants and I'm not sure why I didn't enjoy this version. Also ordered the Brussels sprouts and the pakawras (thick potato slices encased in a crispy batter) - both were quite good. For drinks, we had the apricot mule and the nahal (quite refreshing).
