I tried Ashton for the first time and went there with friends on a road trip to Quebec city. I had heard great things about this place. Double Ashton burger was good and the poutine wasnt great. I was recommended to this place a few days ago when I asked where I could find a good poutine in Quebec City. I grabbed a regular poutine and simple burger to try out their staples. I was unaware that Ashton is unlike other fast food restaurants as their food ... does not come with fries or a drink as part of the meal. This made the price a little too steep for my liking and hit me as a bit of a surprise. I think the poutine was $10 and the burger was just about $8. The cheese curds were okay. I honestly expected more as you hear that Quebec prides itself as being inventors and masters of the poutine and this one was nowhere near the top 10 or 20 of poutines I have tried. Don't get me wrong - the meal is okay. Given a choice of anywhere else and going here again - I would choose to always try somewhere else first before going back here. The store itself was rather clean and they had a handful of staff working and I did get my food quite fast as it was all made fresh after I ordered it. Seemingly did lack flavor and for the price you could easily go somewhere else and get a full meal and leave more full and happy. Okay place ... nowhere near the best. Read more

Had our first Ashton! Was told by a montrealer that Ashton has the best poutine. We don’t have one here, so we got a sampler of everything while on the road. The poutine was indeed good, love the squeeze cheese! Enjoyed the burger and the beef sandwich as well, ... just we found the bread was too “bready”, otherwise it was enjoyable. Classic poutine restaurant for an authentic experience. Not that much toppings selection (only hot-dogs and ground beef). Sizes are pretty big and fries are good.
