Seeing some of the most recent reviews being negative, there must've been a change of owners because this is one of the best Pho place in Montreal. Don't ever be fooled by its location in the basement as some of the best restaurants in Montreal are often tucked away ... in inconspicuous places, its Pho is the only few Pho places in Montreal that doesn't contain MSG and is still tasty and satisfying. Its soup is flavourful and yet is not overly oily like some Pho places. If you order the well-done beef slices, its beef slices are cut really thin and is really lean that doesn't contain any fat unlike some Pho places that either give you huge chunk of beef pieces or half of the pieces is fat. The restaurant is frequently visited by Vietnamese people who come with their families as you hear Vietnamese being spoken all around you. You know you are in a quality authentic Vietnamese restaurant when it's patronized by Vietnamese themselves. Having to pay cash is a downside but then again that's one of the reason why its price is so low. Read more
They used to be really good , though I think they are starting to be washed up which is why their foods have been very shocking . I remember last time we ordered 2 bun bo hue , the soup wasn't even bun bo hue , they spammed it hard ... with fish sauce or something. Read more
Disappointed. I tried the bun bo hue and special pho. The soup was ok certainly not the best as many reviews claim. For me it was average. (By the way an average pho is still tasty). Flavor was not intense or complex, condiments smallish, portion ok but not generous. So the ... food itself 3-3.5 but I subtract 1 because the restaurant was smelly and a bit dingy. I wouldn't go back as a first choice, not because the food is poor but there are better options in mtl imo. On the plus side, the clientele is varied, you don't have to worry about being non-asian, it's inexpensive and close to JT market. Read more
Really nice traditional food. Halal. Healthy! Fulling! Salad is fresh and moderate dressing. The portions are a bit small. But honestly when coming here and your hungry this place will take care of you. Love this place! Their pho is delicious, starting from the broth, to the noodles and the garnishes. They also have a great variety of different phos for extremely reasonable prices. What I love about this place in particular is that they offer different types of Vietnameese soups (compared to other ... phos in the neighborhood) like Phnom Penh, Bo Kho and Bun Bo Hue. The Bo kho is delicious! Their appetizers are cheap and generous (you should try their imperial rolls or the cold summer rolls, both are great). Always excellent and super quick service. Closed on Tuesdays. Read more
