Such a nice and cozy restaurant in the heart of NDG. The food was so flavourful and tasty. Big portions alert. We had the sweet potato fries and spinach artichoke dip, they were so good! The main were lamb sliders (seasonal) and BBQ shrimps. They were an absolute delight! Super fast ... and friendly service. Don't forget to check their menu out! We've been coming and will be coming back again! Read more
We had a lot of fun at this restaurant. The service we received was top notch and the food was tasty. The waitress was attentive and had good timing throughout the night. We sat outside at the patio as the weather was great. We started with grilled cornbread, crab ... croquettes, and garlic chicken wings. The crab croquettes actually had real crab meat, the chicken wings were great, while the cornbread was too sweet for a starter, but still good. For our mains, we ordered meat jambalaya, seafood pastalaya, and Lou's fried chicken - this one comes as 3 pieces but we added an extra piece for $5.50. For the mains, everything was cooked well, the flavor was there, but I find that it lacked the spices for the jambalaya & pastalaya. Now, the desserts were pretty amazing. We got the banana foster which came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a buttery, brown sugar rum sauce. They were quite generous with the sauce which made it very sweet, and I have a sweet tooth! We also got a double chocolate bourbon pecan pie. This was perfection. Overall, this is a unique cuisine in Montreal and I highly recommend you trying them out. Read more
My wife and I had the perfect experience at Restaurant La Louisiane. We had reserved a table and were given our choice of tables when we arrived. It was right at opening at 5:30 so it wasn't very busy yet and our server took our order very quickly. It may be a ... small thing, but this restaurant is one that uses glass carafes instead of metal, so the water tasted perfect. Metal carafes tend to make the water taste awful. We ordered crab cakes as an appetizer and they were served quickly. They were delicious and perfectly cooked. For our entrees we both ordered the blackened fish with Cajun rice. The seasoning was perfect and the fish, which seemed like it was salmon, was tender and complemented the rice very nicely. We decided we'd try a dessert as well and went with the Bananas Foster, something we'd both never had before. We loved this so much! There was a caramelized brown sugar rum sauce that really satisfied my sweet tooth, soft banana slices and quality vanilla ice cream. After all of that we were comfortably full and sat a while and talked and enjoyed the jazzy music before paying and leaving. It really was the perfect experience and I can't wait to visit again to try other dishes. The dinosaur ribs are something I definitely want to try. Thank you, Restaurant La Louisiane for a great experience. Read more
Service was amazing! Jess was our server she’s the best. The crab cakes were delicious so as the ribs. Extremely flavorful would highly recommend. I was a little disappointed with the Chicken Paneed and the coconut shrimp. They were a bit bland.
Great NDG Cajun food with fun ambience. I went there years ago all the time and just back 10 years later and it’s all pretty much the same. We just shared a snack of sweet potato fries and the breaded shrimp with a lovely wine. My friend had the salmon which ... was cooked to perfection. Read more
