We made a quick stop on a rainy day in the middle of the mural festival for some Portuguese food at Restaurant Jano. While we watched the Formula 1 race, we were delighted by a delicious meal of: - Bifana: A delicious, well-cooked, and seasoned pork steak sandwich, served with a side ... of fries and Portuguese salad. - Tender, exquisitely prepared quarter chicken leg. We couldn't leave without trying Natas, of course, and we loved the glorious little tarts. Read more
Warmly decorated portuguese restaurant. It didn't look very busy on Friday night, service was quick. We got garlic shrimp appetizer and it was good, the grilled calamari didn't taste much, the rib steak although big was however bland and tasted like not marinated at all. Maybe that's how portuguese steak ... is supposed to be but we didn't like it at all, even with the spicy sauce. Overall it seems a bit overpriced. Read more
I came here after watching a video suggesting to visit this restaurant. As I entered, we got seated right away. The place had a good amount of locals dining in. The service was great at the beginning but after food was served it was pretty slow. It took a while ... for us to get the bill as there was only 2 waiters. We got the half leg with fries and the combo w chicken & pork. You get a salad and the dressing was amazing! I got the soup, it was good and different. Also ordered, the sangria (tasted like juice), flan (definitely not my favorite - it was just too bitter). Read more
My experience Location in downtown is perfect. However, parking is an issue 😑 Decorations and layout, for me , are cozy and romantic. Place can fit a number of small to medium groups. The Washroom 🚻 requires an upgrade. I couldn't find warm water to wash my hands Cleanliness is acceptable ... within expectations Service is an excellent, friendly environment. Staff know how to explain the ingredients in both languages. With fully respectful 🙏 (thanks guys). The food is really delicious 😋 😍 👌 I loved ❤️ 😍 💖 it a lot. And rich, I loved the Portugal 🇵🇹 potatoes 🥔 😋 The price is affordable and reasonable. Conclusion, I liked 👍 it a lot and for sure if I visit Montreal, I will visit them again. Read more
We decided on a last-minute meal of chicken and salad, and this place didn't disappoint. We were seated quickly. The grilled chicken roasted to pretty perfect, not dry, the fries were crispy and delicious, the warm bread crunchy and although the salad had a bit too much vinegar, still ... tasty. And that hot spice tho! While the food was tasty , our waiter was rude, slow, and inattentive. Had to ask for water ,utensils and the bill , 2x’s. Fortunately, another younger waiter who brought our food , provided excellent service with a smile. Overall, imo, this was one of the two best fast food Portuguese chicken in Montreal. Coco Rico being the other. Read more
