Our first time to this venu. Decor is exceptional. Food was delicious and well presented. This evening had a special singer performing so our dinner service was delayed as the restaurant was full. Love the food, love the music, love the atmosphere. I saw that House of Jazz had live music at 7pm, and wandered in without a reservation. The staff made a fuss, but seated us to the side, with a great view of the band. I'm not sure why they made a ... fuss, as our section of the restaurant was never packed. The jazz trio was fantastic. I ate the salmon with butternut squash puree and roasted root vegetables. My only complaint is that the puree was a sauce, but I had been hoping for something more substantial. To make up for it, I finished with key lime pie. The side section has great atmosphere, as if you are under a tent. The lamps are all different bright colors and shapes. Awesome place with live Jazz band. Incredible ambience, cozy, classy decoration remind of the 1950s-60s. Warm place with great service. Food is tasty with a good choices and well presented in their plates. Dessert are straight from heaven!!! Worth to be there for a few hours.

TLDR: Music great, if later start. Don't reserve before 7pm. Food dry, like it was saved from lunch. Food overpriced for quality. Come for the music, and eat before coming. Having heard some good things about The House of Jazz, my wife and I were eager to check it out. We traveled on our ... monthly date night just to do so in fact. So how did it fair? Dissapointingly, in truth. We arrived at 6pm, when supper reservations started. It was noted there is $10 Entertainment Fee per person added to the bill. We did not mind this... except it did not start until after 7pm.... Since we paid the fee, we ate and stayed to at least get some of it. The food costs more than it is worth for sure. The half chicken I had tasted dry, like it was saved from what did not sell during lunch. If you open at 6pm for supper, I expect you need to prepare new food to serve, not dry left overs. Save some money, and eat better chicken at Swiss Chalet. The only good, was the music.The band playing knew their stuff, and was quite enjoyable. Vintage setup with live performances. The food was okay, though we only tried few items from the menu. Even though the cover price is $10/person, I would say it's worth the price for the experience.
