Château Versailles - Montreal, Quebec

We just had the most amazing experience at Chateau Versailles! Not only did they accommodate a last-minute change when we added a third person to our booking same-day but they did it with grace and ease! Our room was incredible, roomy, clean and absolutely gorgeous. From the lovely ceiling detail ... to the pristine bathroom, no detail was overlooked. I’m surprised this is even 3-stars. The rooms are ancient, A/C does what it wants to doesn’t provide cooling (don’t come here during spring/summer) mini-bar doesn’t work, bedside lamps don’t work, barely any space to sit for breakfast (which is below average at best). I was here for 2 nights and ... the room felt small, washroom was tiny as well. Valet parking is always full, but there’s another open-air parking spot nearby for $30 for 24-hour parking. Only plus side is the location. I can walk/bike around all the tourist spots & attractions. Depends on what you are looking for, but I’d pay the extra 100-150$ and get a better hotel room somewhere else nearby then have to worry about basic amenities and wasting my time trying to get people in the hotel to fix things during my stay. First time traveling to Montreal with a friend and we found this hotel on Expedia for an amazing rate during Easter weekend. We both agreed that we wanted to stay somewhere more historic since that is what Montreal is. We are so glad we stumbled across this gem of a ... hotel. It is located about 10-15 min drive (or 35 min walk) from Downtown Old Montreal. We walked most of the time so we could take in the sites. As soon as our Uber dropped us off we were instantly greeted by staff and they offered to carry our bags for us. This is a historic building so there are no elevators. We read this ahead of time but that did not bother us as it is only a 4 story hotel. But if you have mobility issues I would keep that in mind. There are stairs leading up to check in and throughout the hotel. We got to to the hotel much earlier than expected. Our room wasn't ready yet but they offered to store our bags so we could wander around the city until it was ready. The rooms were super cute and comfortable. The bathroom was very large and had lots of mirrors which made it easy for us to get ready. In the mornings in the lobby they had pastries for the guests and unlimited coffee/water all day. The staff was all super nice and accommodating. We definitely would stay here again. Read more

My king room with fireplace was perfect. High ceilings and very comfortable bed. The breakfast was decent with fresh pastries and cereals. The location is about a 20 minute brisk walk to McGill. I would stay again and recommend to others.

I've been staying here for about a decade during meetings at Concordia (which is a couple blocks away). It's so much cozier than the overly corporate and sterile alternatives. The price is usually fair and the breakfast is great. The last time I stayed the room had two very comfortable ... beds, a very large TV. Parking at a nearby lot is $27 (or valet $38), which is not bad for downtown Montreal. Read more
