Great place if you're looking for handpulled noodles. Just make sure you don't go for hot pot, especially during lunch. Waited a long time before I got served, lamb meat was very hard, not much choice for dipping sauce. Server and manager/owner/cook were nice, but cashier made me overpay by a ... lot. This is the most delicious I had ever eaten hot pot. Be sure to eat yuanyang pot. Hot pot is not particularly hot. It is generally acceptable. Eat hot pot I will come here next time！

Hands down the best Lanzhou hand pulled noodles in Montreal and the closest thing you'll get to authentic Chengdu hotpot. I lived in Chengdu for many years and was obsessed with having Lanzhou noodles for lunch (literally almost everyday) and recently ate at one of the most infamous Lanzhou noodle ... restaurants in the city of Lanzhou itself. Again, I'm just a bit obsessed with this simple dish. On the noodles: great texture and taste in a nice broth that isn't too salty or overwhelming. Just how I personally like it. If you want more of a kick there is chilli and vinegar on hand. Portion was generous and well displayed with chopped up chives and the beef slices in a neat row. On the hotpot: I eat hotpot at every chance I get and haven't been too impressed by the other options in Montreal, finding the flavours bland and the stock far too salty. The flavours of chilli and huajiao (prickly ash pepper) and oil, etc. were well balanced. They will also ask what spice level you want so you can ramp it up or down depending on how much you can handle. On the resto itself: Attentive friendly staff in a nice clean setting with big wooden tables, historic framed photographs and an abundance of seating. The restaurant was about two thirds full on a Tuesday evening and most of the clientele were Chinese, which in my mind tells you that the food must be pretty authentic. I'm so very happy that Montreal is finally churning out some great authentic Chinese restaurants as we used to have to wait until we visited Toronto to get our fix! This place is very good. I liked the fact that they didn't have any stereotypical chinese music playing the background, it made the setting feel more peaceful. The menu is simple, their soups are exploding with flavour. Service was very quick and efficient
