I want to share an experience regarding my recent journey through VIA RAIL. I took a train from montreal to halifax. It was my first journey through the train. I was so excited and the train was on time. Seat is comfortable and has enough leg room. It stops in each station for ... 10/15 minutes which is annoying. The journey was 22 hours long. Night spent well. In the morning i went to get noodles from the canteen. After bringing it to my coach, suddenly coach shaked and those boiling water with noodles fell down on my wife's feet. Guess what.. She screamed as the water was too hot that burned the feet. I brought some cold water but it was not enough to compensate. I called the attendance, she came up with first aid and cloths. I was expecting a burn seal to put the effected area ASAP. Guess what? No burn seal!!! This is a long distance train and has no burn seal cream in any first aid box!! I was so shocked. The attendance said sorry and she was extremely helpful but I was not happy to see this safety condition. Burn seal is the most crucial thing in the first aid box. I want to draw attention to VIA rail to keep the burn seal in the coach and want to suggest the customer to keep a burn seal during the journey. The Central station of Montreal. It's basically a train station below ground level and has shops and restaurants underground. It's fairly well designed, and people wait at the shop and restaurant level until it's time to bore before they access the train platform that is further below.

We took the VIA train from Toronto to Montreal. I like how easy it is to navigate at Gare Centrale. It only took one escalator ride from the platform to the lobby. There are ticket machines to purchase transit tickets and passes. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. **I highly ... recommend the "3-day All mode A" unlimited transit pass, as it includes regular bus and Metro fares for Zone A, and also airport bus 747 (it costs $11 per ride). It can bring you to many hotels along Rene Levesque Blvd W.** For the return trip, we stopped by the VIA Rail Business Lounge before boarding. It's a bit warm in the lounge that morning and they had a fan running there. I guess they had issues with the air conditioning. Nevertheless it's still nice to chill out there. They offer free coffee, tea, soda and juice, which is a nice addition to have. Read more
